First Week in the MTC

December 1, 2021

 Halo,

I have been a missionary for less than 72 hours but I have learned and grown so much! It has been a whirlwind of figuring out what I'm supposed to be doing and where I'm supposed to be but it's crazy how much I am helped out by the spirit, by my district, and everyone really. We have really focused on "our purpose" as missionaries and that has really helped me because oftentimes when I am doing things in my life I wonder "What am I doing? and Why am I doing this?" I have been able to answer both of those questions strongly! I am becoming a missionary and representative of the Church of Jesus Christ and I am doing it because it is the greatest cause on the earth today and I never wanna miss out on that!

On my first day we had a workshop with one of the guys who is over all the MTC's worldwide and let me tell you, he mic dropped! He shared a story of president Hinkley when on his mission had a time where he got sick and very discouraged about the work he was to do. He wrote home to his father saying something to the effect of "I feel like I am wasting my time, and your money". His fathers response was "Son, forget yourself and go to work". I just loved that! It was definitely not the mercy he wanted to hear but it was firm and turned his perspective and life around. When I found out my schedule and realized that I would not have the opportunity to go support my family members at their games and concerts because it would conflict with class, I was kinda bummed. But immediately after I was talking to my mom about my disappointment, I got on for that workshop and my entire perspective changed. I am not here for me, I am here to serve.

It wouldn't be a missionary email without a spiritual thought so here is mine. I have become so much more familiar with the scriptures it's insane but I really liked was D+C 31:11 "Go your way whithersoever I will, and it shall be given you by the Comforter what you shall do and whither you shall go" This is a blessing I have received a lot but it is also a blessing for each of you. You are never alone and you will always have someone by your side helping you as you need it.

Thank you all so much for being supportive and for your kindness. I know I wouldn't be here if it weren't for you. I just have mainly one picture and it is of my district, they are amazing and they are so fun that they all mimicd my screen freezing haha. They are all so cool! I love and miss you all! Feel free to email me anytime! I can always read emails. I just won't respond until my p-day which for now is wednesday. :)
